How to Become a Volunteer

Contact the Centre: Send us an email or give us a call expressing your interest in volunteering.

Fill Out Application to Become a Volunteer. Make sure to provide all the necessary information about your skills, interests, preferences and availability.

Attend an Interview/Orientation: Attend an interview/orientation session. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about you and for you to learn more about the volunteer opportunities available as well as Mission, Vision and Values.

Training: Attend our training session required by the Martha Retreat Centre to ensure you understand your role

Start Volunteering: Once you've completed all the necessary steps, you can start volunteering at the Martha Retreat Centre. Be sure to communicate with the staff, follow their guidelines, and fulfill your responsibilities to the best of your ability.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
There are many ways that people have become involved with the Centre over time and many ways that draw them to continue to come. Being involved directly with the Centre can evolve in ways that supports the Centre as we create space for our future in this community. We often hear how the Centre is a secret gem in our community. We continue to attract new people and invite you to consider being involved as a volunteer.

Joining together in communion through prayer to nourish the wellbeing of those who seek spiritual strength as they are invited to experience the ministry of the Centre.

To ensure a safe environment within the Centre and on the surrounding grounds.

GROUNDS TEAM
To advise, develop and care of the Martha Retreat Centre grounds.

HOSPITALITY TEAM
To ensure an ambiance that is welcoming, restful, and peaceful.​

PROMOTIONS TEAM
To develop and create messaging for communication strategies to increase awareness of the mission and values of the Martha Retreat Centre.

To seek input from the community for programming and facilitators that enhance spiritual wellbeing, understanding and wisdom.​

FUND DEVELOPMENT TEAM
To advise and assist the Executive Director on the fund development strategies for the Retreat Centre.

GARDEN TEAM
To help in planning, planting, maintaining, and harvesting fruits, vegetables, and herbs to sustainably produce fresh, nutritious food for meals at the Martha Retreat Centre.
